Guide to Configure Alexa with Cielo Smart Thermostat Eco

To configure your device with an Amazon Alexa Smart Skill, follow these simple instructions.

Step 1: Open 'Amazon Alexa App', enter your login credentials and tap on 'sign in' button. In case you don’t have an account, follow the on-screen instructions to create one.

 

Step 2: Tap on ‘More’ in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. From the menu, select ‘Skills & Games’.

Step 3: On search bar, type ‘Cielo’. The ‘Cielo’ skill will appear in the search terms. Select the skill.

Step 4: To use this skill, press “Enable to Use”. This will take you to ‘Cielo Home’ login window so you can link your account with your Amazon Alexa account. To continue, enter your ‘Cielo Home’ account credentials and press the ‘Sign-in’ button.

After successful sign-in, you will see a message saying, ‘Cielo Home account has been successfully linked.’ Tap ‘Next’ to discover your device.

Step 5: You'll get a message saying, ‘Alexa is looking for devices to connect’. Alexa will start discovering devices, which may take around 45 seconds. Once done, the list of connected devices will be displayed. Tap on your connected devices.

Using the Amazon Alexa App to Control Your HVAC

Apart from Alexa voice controls, you can also control your HVAC system using the Amazon Alexa app. It will give you the following controls:

1. Change the HVAC mode – Cool, Heat, Auto, & OFF.
2. Increase or decrease your set point temperature.

Alexa Compatible Device Names

Cielo Smart Thermostat Eco name should be compatible with Alexa. Alexa does not understand names with special characters or numbers. It only understands simple English names for devices.

To ensure smooth operation and avoid communication issues, follow these naming best practices:

Use alphabet-only names - avoid numbers or special characters

• Correct: “Bedroom”, “Living Room”
• Incorrect: “B3dr00m”, “Bed.Room”

Avoid duplicate or similar names

While “Bedroom”, “Bed Room”, “bedROOM”, and “bedroom” may appear different in writing, Alexa hears them all as “bedroom.” If multiple devices share a similar-sounding name, Alexa may only control the first one it finds.

Use correct spelling

Typos can prevent Alexa from recognizing the device.

• Correct: Bedroom
• Incorrect (typo): Bedrom

Note: You can rename your thermostat anytime from the Cielo Home app.
