If you notice that Comfy Max occasionally sets your AC temperature a few degrees above or below your preferred heating or cooling temperature, it’s completely normal. It does not mean your AC will actually heat or cool the room to that temperature value. Instead, it’s part of how Comfy Max maintains a comfortable indoor climate.
Why This Happens
Comfy Max uses intelligent algorithms to dynamically adjust your mini-split’s temperature, mode, and fan speed. This helps your AC reach and maintain your desired room temperature more effectively.
Let’s say you’ve set your preferred temperatures to:
🔥 Heating: 70°F
❄️ Cooling: 75°F
Current room temperature: 68°F
Since the room temperature is below your desired heating temperature, Comfy Max activates the heating. To efficiently bring the temperature up to your desired setting, it may temporarily adjust the setpoint to a slightly higher level, such as 72°F or 73°F. As soon as the room temperature reaches 70°F, it will minimize heating.
Factors Influencing Setpoint Changes
This value is calculated by Comfy Max based on several factors,
- Room size
- Indoor Temperature
- Outdoor conditions
- Estimated time to reach your preferred temperature
Once the room temperature reaches your desired 70°F, Comfy Max adjusts again, this time setting the AC to a slightly lower value (perhaps 68°F or even lower). This prevents the system from overshooting your desired heating temperature and helps the compressor gradually slow down.
